Data Collection
Data
to be collected weekly:
At
five (5) key locations between San Diego and Santa Cruz
(and more often and at more sites during toxic blooms)
General:
Algal
biomass, water properties (e.g. temperature, salinity, light)
Specific:
Abundance
of domoic acid (DA)-producing diatoms and the saxitoxin (STX)-producing
dinoflagellate. Also, concentrations of DA and STX released into coastal
waters.
For
our coordination with State Agency testing mussel for algal toxicity:
Phytoplankton
biomass, water properties (e.g.
temperature, salinity, light)
